What is Oral Health?

CDA defines oral health as a state of the oral and related tissues and structures that contribute positively to physical, mental and social well-being and to the enjoyment of life’s possibilities, by allowing the individual to speak, eat and socialize unhindered by pain, discomfort or embarrassment.

Gingivitis

Many Canadians will experience gingivitis at least once in their lives. Gingivitis is a type of gum disease that causes inflammation of the gums. To find out if you have gingivitis, visit your dentist. Your dentist has the training, skills and expertise to detect and treat gingivitis and other more serious oral health diseases.

Missing Teeth

If you are missing 1 or more of your teeth, talk to your dentist about replacing them with bridges, dentures or implants. Your dentist is your expert in tooth restoration and replacement.
